I just bought a new F-250. It's my daily driver. 90% of the time I don't tow anything and am the only occupant. The other 10% of the time I'm either towing something large, carrying something large in the bed, or carrying passengers and small stuff in the bed. I paid for luxury 90% of the time and actual truck use 10% the time. If I had gotten a non-truck I'd lose 10% of my usage and not be happy. I agree that it's fun to go offroading with trucks, and obviously they're useful to tow recreational stuff, but my argument is that almost no one uses trucks for those purposes. I noticed this years ago. My dad had a 95 or a 96 F150 with the straight 6 that he bought brand new, then ten years later got an F150 Lariat. Bed and cab sizes aside, we all noticed that the new F150 dwarfed the 96. A month later, my uncle stops by in his 94 F250, and I realized that the 06 was roughly the same size.

Also kind of sad that trucks with smaller engines aren't available anymore. I don't think the Colarados or even the Tacomas come with anything less than a V6.
