>$30,000 for a luxury, practical/economical compact coupe

What do you think, /o/?

The biggest downsides I can think of is that it's much slower than other used Cadillacs in this price range and the back seat is pretty small. They do fold down for more trunk space, though.

Please keep responses unbiased and judge it by its own merits.
>>
Remember, it is a chevy volt. It should have been 30k new
>>
>>16667096

I think it only shares the power train and platform with it.
>>
It's caricaturally ugly.
>>
looks are to taste but no way is that thing compact.
my yaris is compact. that thing is big.
>>
>>16667426

What do you mean?

>>16667433

The Toyota Yaris is classified as a subcompact.
>>
Here is a very detailed review of the ELR that I think is the best on YouTube.

>>
Its a giant crz. I bet that caddy engineers wanted a sporty electric car but the GM told them to just make a fancy volt.
>>
Good looking exterior (eye of the beholder), but that steering wheel/dash looks like something out of Flash Gordon's masturbatory nightmare.
>>
>>16667067
it's alright OP.

For 30k tho, you might as well get a gen 2 Volt. They improved a lot on this platform
>>
its a pretty solid used car buy desu
>>
>>16670181

The 2016 model got some big improvements that maybe made it closer to what the engineers and designers wanted originally.

"Major product upgrades include a more than 25 percent boost in power and torque, faster acceleration that improves 0-60 mph by 1.5 seconds, higher top speed, retuned chassis and steering for better handling, more responsive brakes and a new Performance equipment package."

It's surprising they made all these changes, considering this is it's final model year.

I like it very much. The range of materials is pretty wild. There appears to be six in that strip on the passenger side dash.

1. Stitched material
2. Suede
3. Wood
4. Polished metal
5. Carbon fiber
6. Soft material
>>
>>16670442

Yeah, the new Volt is much better. It can be optioned with some of the ELR's best features like adaptive cruise control.

If it was my money, I would probably get the new Volt.
>>
>>16670442
>>16672304

Also, a new, fully equipped Volt costs around $40,000, or $10,000 more than a used, fully equipped ELR.

It's amazing how much electric cars that aren't Teslas depreciate.

Do you guys prefer light or dark interiors?
>>
>>16674003
Because everyone regrets buying it.
>>
>>
>>16674025

But even Volts lose their value really fast, and they have the second highest owner satisfaction of any car, right behind the Model S.

>stupid looking and no v8
straight into the garbage it goes
>>
>>16674074

If it had a V8 it would be much more expensive to drive, especially if one already has solar panels.

The CTS-V has an average of 17 MPG and the ELR has an average of 82 MPGe. Assuming that electricity costs half as much as gasoline, this would mean that the CTS-V costs 9.6 times more to drive than the ELR while in electric only operation. That's $0.104 spent on the ELR for every $1 spent on the CTS-V.

>>16674180
I never take mpg into consideration when driving or shitposting. that car is gross and you should feel bad for liking it.
>>
>>16674180
But a CTS-V gets you laid

Hey can you tell the Autobot hiding on the center console there that he's wanted on the set of the Transformers movie? Thanks.

I just bought a lexus with a cream leather interior. I'm in the American south so black leather gets hot as Satan's ass Crack in the summer.

I have 50/50 leather/suede seats and it helps in the summer heat. They don't get nearly as hot as full leather seats, plus they're more comfortable. The paint is black, though, so the interior still gets hotter than most. The A/C works really well and doesn't use that much energy.

It's a pretty mundane place, overall.
