400 or 800? which engine?
Painted my core support
>>16669701
I think it was scotty
>>16669710
Preferably a 400 as they've got less electronics to go bad and are cheaper.
6.5 diesel for best fuel economy
96-99 7.4 for the most power and reliability
96-99 5.7 for a balance of the three
94+ 6.5s have electronic injection and the PMD is prone to failure. It can be relocated to fix the overheating issue but even so it's not as reliable as I feel it should be.
Cooling can be an issue for the 6.5 but a Duramax fan and severe duty fan clutch is usually more than enough to fix that.

It's more than I'd pay but if you can get him talked down to $3500 or so that would be a good deal, $4k reasonable.
It's got a PMD cooler which shows the owner researched the issue and spent the time and money to prevent it. I would still relocate the PMD to the bumper (def keep the heatsink with it) and upgrade to a Duramax clutch fan though.

Still want information on what to do with this large sheet of giant metal. I wonder if you could custom make a bumper that has a thin layer of electrolysed titanium over the bumper. Just toss the bumper in a large bathtub and a vat of Titanium Chloride and run a low plating amp through for 3-5 days. Maybe the same with tantalum.
I have tried this with copper but you can't sufficiently plate it on industrial steel without corrosion and flaking off.

Anyway, I'll post up when the South West guys start up again (early May), drop them a line. You'll fit in very well with the other Jeeppoorfags and Jeepmallfags. Mostly XJs and modern Rubies, though...
Otherwise, I have my passport for business and can always head down to Windsor to get some cheap bottles of scotch and some fags for friends across the border.
>>16671330
So I asked my colleagues about this and it turns out I can actually electroplate a bare steel bumper with a solution of titanium hydroxide and ammonium chloride despite their deposition values. You just need to wait like 3 days for a solid enough layer. I might do this with the bare back bumper I may get in the summer and see if it resists corrosion with salt (like most titanium should) but be like 5x stronger than steel. Also like 2x lighter.
Otherwise, you could coat it with a high pressure vat of tantalum nitride or tungsten nitride. But shit costs money and I'm not connected well enough with chinks to risk my life doing that.

I fucking love Founders. They have it seasonal here and the last time I had some, I begged my friend to send me a 3 pack of their Breakfast Stout and Centennial IPA from Florida.
I normally get two bottles of Cragganmore when I go back since it saves me like $100 from buying it across the border instead of in our provincial liquor stores. I buy them in town here anyway so it's a no brainer.
I'll bring some of these Onterrible Craft beers, though. We have the equivalent of ice wine but for hops (due to the way they freeze over) so it produces this sweet IPA which I haven't found anywhere else. Really neato.

My thought is. same desu
Anyway, since we've divulged into shitposting, I might as well join you guys for once. Here's my past 24 hours:
>get kfc for two-toonie tuesday
>they're out of hot sauce in store and at home
>whatever i have that new bottle my friend gave me because he knows i chug hot sauce
>eat all my kfc
>look over at my bottle:
>Dave's Gourmet Ghost Pepper Naga Jolokia Hot Sauce
>bottle says to only use one drop and that this is used as an industrial solvent
>"oh whatever, they're just using it to product advertise it can't be that hot"
>looks over at my stack of hot sauces i've chugged this month without issue
>pour out a tablespoon to test the water on how how it is
>eat it
>spend the next 5 minutes spraying my kitchen facet directly into my mouth to rinse it cool
>mom asks me what the fuck i'm doing
>i manage to muster out the words "hot pepper" as she watches me bamboozlement
>recover a bit and realise what the fuck i just did and go back to playing spintyres
>pain kicks in
>searing pain 5x more intense than a tooth's dry socket hits my stomach
>lay on my couch clutching my stomach for 30 minutes in the worst pain I have ever felt
>manage to crawl to toilet and violently throw up
>only throw up the yoghurt i used to wash down the hot sauce
>collapse on bedroom floor foaming at the mouth from pain
>try to throw up again
>mouth, oesophagus, and nose is now on fire as well as stomach
>stomach not feeling any better
>keep throwing up because at this point nothing can help me out
>manage to grab a bottle of water on the way to laying down on the couch
>pain is not debilitating so i flail around violently
>endorphins wear off and the pain intensifies 3 fold
>actually get knocked out from the pain
>wake up an hour later in no pain and giant drool stains everwhere
>decide to shower and sleep because I have to be up at 6 the next morning
>pain re-initiates in the shower
>accidentally touched dick with fingers covered with hot sauce
>now dick is on fire too

If I was going to both live in one vehicle, and offroad in one vehicle.
Which car would you get?

XJ or something else with a roof tent. You won't want to unpack all your shit so you have room to sleep.

should I buy 35 inch tires for my stock 16's (I have both steel and alloy) or wait longer and buy 35's and 18's? the 18's would also be 2 inches wider
also what is the top tier MT? for AT consensus seems BFG AT2's
kitting out pic related for overlanding and general camping/road trips this summer :3
>>16677062
I have goodyear AT adventure (new silent armour)
they're awesome.
BFG AT2's were my other choice, but got a better deal with these
Shit tier: duratracks
>>16677070
shit tier also includes all firestone/bridgestone
I'm sick, and being sick makes me pissed and now im regretting buying a dog shit mechanical locker for my dog shit jeep that now grinds 2nd and 3rd gear every once and a while, and my drive shaft that wiggles like a fucking worm when I blip the throttle. And when I accelerate out of a sharp turn my shit motor cant even go when the locker is engaged, it just sucks all the power out of the engine until it disengages itself. I was originally like haha it already handles bad, but now because of all the slop in my drive train making a god damn u turn is impossible without the jeep jumping back and forth like I'm going through a damn whoop section out in ocotillo and 50mph... if i'm in second gear that is. like this shit scared me the first time I made a u-turn this morning. I installed it yesterday afternoon and already hate it. Doesn't help that i'm a student and don't have any money and live in cali where shit is always expensive and I need to fucking replace my motor, trany, transfer case, and drive shafts. that didn't have all these problems when I bought the jeep and started building it.
Yes this is yellow yj guy. I'm in a bad fucking mood today.
>tfw not enough money to motor trany, and case swap to
>tfw not even enough to fix what I have
>tfw i'm a fucking fool.

>tfw they didn't put any fucking holes on the bottom so water and mud can drain out

>TFW my shit ass jeep has a salvage title, covered in bondo, and when I checked the frame, has a few dents and shit from a rear passehger hit.
At least the fixed it up alright, I guess.
