> No they don't.

Harley owner faggot here.

When you buy a Harley you're buying 3/4 of a kit, you're buying the shit it needed to pass emission standards. Both noise and otherwise.

Always factor in another 25% to make it a "real" Harley by unfuckulating the shitacular factorial crap. See Harley getting dickslapped by the EPA for SE Race tuners..

They're big inefficient shitbeast bikes that are more of a lifestyle than a straight up bike purchase. Theres a reason the fuckin Harley branded aftermarket catalog is almost as thick as the JP/DS one, you bought an unfinished bike that passed the green test by a hair, now that it's yours the dealer can install all your shit with factory warranty (For the most part)

We refer to this 25% off the hop as part of the "Harley" tax.

Even this set of V&H slipons on my dyna cost bit, theres an SE Heavy Breather to go on and an SE tuner came with the bike to defeat EPA cuckery. I paid 200% more for half the bike of most other modern producers. this is just kind of a given.

That's not too bad of a price for a 525 but only buy it if you have about an extra $1000 to rebuild it because it will be nearing the end of its life. IIRC the SX is only a 4-speed but if you end up doing a full rebuild you can swap in a shift drum and extra gear from an EXC/MXC and get a 6 speed.
>>
>>16669170
Im not talking stickers and tank bags, with the amount of frames, transmissions, forks, bars, tires, chains, belts and kickstart/big bore kits you can make a sportster into literally anything you want all on the same good engine since the 80s.

Engine vibrations caused the 2 and 3 carb main jets to back out and fall into the fuel bowls allowing unrestricted fuel flow which caused the bike to become a fireball at idle.

Reconditioning? The published used bike price doesn't include some magic number for fixing it up to sell? Fucking stealerships.

Plus... "ng excludes ALL added parts and accessories. Contact dealer for details.ADDED EQUIPMENT:MIRROR ADAPTER $39.90MIRRO ... TOTAL ACCESSORIES ADDED$1331.35"

So the real price is $3330.35 + some random "reconditioning" fee, say $500, so $3830.35.

How easy is it to swap a ninja 650 engine?

Aside from the basic tools, would I need a jack or a lift specifically for motorcycle engines?
>>
>>16669758
you'll kill its resale value dont do it
>>
>>16669758
you need to remove pretty much everything from the bike including the swingarm.

if you don't know what you are doing don't do it.
>>
>>16669758
Not easy, it's a week long project if you know what you're doing
>>
>>16669778
My idiot cousin ran it without oil and his mechanic told him the pistons are fucked and his best move is to get a new engine, but he'd rather get another bike so I'm thinking of buying it from him on the cheap and swapping the engine if there's no other damage to the poor thing.

It's not impossible, if you're mechanically inclined and have a friend help you it should get done, it'll be a pain and you'll hate it and it could take a while but you could do it

Also I'm gonna post some FZR 750 Genesis's now because they're cool

The engines aren't too expensive and he just wants to get rid of it so I figured I'd put a new one in it and have a nice second bike to my r3

Yeah I'm not in a rush to do anything since it's not even my project yet, I was just wondering if I'd need to buy/find a lift or a jack to get the engine out of it and a new one in.

Can someone explain to me what the fuck is going on

I have a 2007 yamaha xt225. The battery crapped out a while ago so I got a new one just a few hours ago. I put it in the bike and everything worked just fine.

I just went to go hop on my bike and it started turning over. I stopped before it could start because I was close to my roommates window. I moved the bike out into the street to start it and all it did was make a click sound from the starter relay. I opened up the motorcycle, everything looks good. I fiddled around with the wires for a bit to double check connections. Stood up and went to turn on the bike and the lights are really dim, like the battery is dying.

I just fucking spent $100 on a new battery. Wtf is going on?
>>
>>16670265
are you the femanon who ripped another anon apart on the touge the other day?

and you already let the battery go flat, push start it and ride it for an hour or two and should be all sweet.
>>
>>16670281
No I'm not

And how could the battery have already died? I had the keys in for like one minute at most
>>
>>16670290
Did the battery say it came fully charged?

Did you charge it?
>>
>>16670306
Yeah, it was fully charged. I just tried jumping it and it's still just making a click from the starter relay
>>
>>16670317 here
Even with jumper cables attached, the lights are still going dimmer
>>
>>16670317
>>16670330
Sounds like a wiring issue then, either you have a crap connection to the battery, or something is allowing it to discharge. You really need a multimeter to diagnose shit like this.
>>
>>16670317
>>16670330

Just do it if you really want to. It's really liberating and brings a lot to your life. Just start out easy and be careful and always wear all your gear and you should be fine. Riding a motorcycle is a lot less hard and scary than most people think

Duct tape, zip-ties, gauze, athletic tape, tourniquets, disposable gloves and disposable mouth to mouth aids, medical disinfectant wet wipes.

One thing they I've actually used and really recommend is disposable saline-eye irrigators. So good at removing irritants.

Things that Stop bleeding, remove stings, stabilise broken bones, remove blockages are the most useful
