Ok, so I have a classic that is starting to rust around the edges of the wheel wells and rear quarters. What's the best way to temporarily (a couple years) deal with the rust and keep it from spreading until I am able to perform a proper blasting and repaint? There's no holes yet, and I'm trying keep it from getting worse. The previous owner did a shit-tastic job "restoring" the vehicle, and now the cheap paint job is starting to peel, bubble, and fall off. Pic is not my car.

NICE RADIALS FAGGOT
Flap disc & angle grinder to the rust
Paint cleaned areas with steel primer
Put paint ontop
Put clearcoat ontop
It'll look like shit, but better than rust

Congratulations on buying a bondo special. It's only going to get worse.
That's a little more than "starting to rust." That's just the rust you can see from 50 ft away. There's no telling how bad the rust is internally. It's probably terrible.

This. Grinding the rust off and repainting won't fix it completely but it will slow the rust down a lot. To fix it properly, you have to cut off the rusted part. Then either weld on new steel or paste on fiberglass and repaint.

Cool, I appreciate the advice. I'll start gathering the materials soon.

It's actually not that bad. They went through the effort of welding in an entirely new (reproduction) floor and trunk. The only real bondo issue I've found are the rockers. But holy shit, the rockers almost look like they are entirely bondo. Still trying to prep myself for the horror when I eventually amputate and replace them with actual metal. I'm also looking at having to install new mounts for the rear lights because the screw holes have rusted out. Gonna be a bitch though because it's almost impossible to access the mounts since they are inside the tailfins. Drip rail is a bit rusty too in spots.

Does nobody read anymore??
POR 15 mate.
Had some wheel well rust bubbles pop up. Scraped the paint off with a screwdriver, then did the 3 step POR 15 system. Lasted 4 years before I got around to actually FIXING the spot. This stuff stops rust from going any further than it already has. Literally just paint the shit right on the rust.
