>want to buy an MR2 AW11
>live in bum fuck nowhere, Canada
>even if I bought one, could only realistically drive it half the year since rural snow is shockingly bad
>probably going to die to oversteer in the snow one day
How does one go about buying cars from distant cities? I imagine I'd have to bring a friend for a day trip, who'd have to drive my current car back if I made the purchase. Either that, or catch a ride to the nearest town with a train station or airport if someone I know is headed that way.
Christ you need a lot of handholding.
Pathetic fuck.

find an import specialist in a nearby major city and have them import one for you.

i think somebody got spanked this morning
>pick a car you like
>see where it's located
>try to find other cars that you can check on your way
>fucking reserve everything
>if the car is rare think of the alternatives and add them to the list
>plan your trip accordingly
people will gladly reserve their cars if you'll say you will come from afar because they'll think you'll be desperate to not come empty handed but they don't know you have back up cars and you're smarter than that
well... not you, me
as for mr2 alternatives, miata is an obvious choice
i'd argue it's actually better if you only plan to use the car outside of winters
that's about it, try thinking for yourself in the future, it's not rocket science
oh, and buy the first one you like, trust me on that

Just buy it already
In France you can't find a MK1 under 15k unless it's foreign and the govt' won't let you drive it until you pay 30% of the price (NEW) and pay a few grands just to register the car
>>16640939
>15k for an MR2
>30% RRP tax
>Multi thousand dollar registration
What the fuck is going on in your country?

There was an embargo during the 80's against Japan to prevent people from buying anything else than Renault, Peugeot or Citroën
And they don't want you to import so they made it really hard to do so
If you want to bypass this shit you have to wait 30 years after production for the car to be exempted from these taxes
Most of the MR2 MK1 LHD come from Switzerland for this reason it's really really really hard to get an AW11 here

Why not import a 1986 model?
