Long time sonygger here who just bought an xbone specifically for Forza horizon 3 since I have a shit computer
Myself question is, is there a way to just randomly dick around with people online without having a race or friends?
Similar to how it was in gran turismo 5/6 where you could start an open lobby but never start the race and everyone just drove around doing whateve, drifting and whatnot?

I do count their bike trips and other shit like that as car related... I guess motor related content is what I mean.
But I liked they more subtle ones.
For example, the mud crawler thing that james did could have been better, but it was simply about james being annoyed at being in mud.
On the other hand, the small cabrio trio trip, or the SUV trip, was a bit more decent. The "green" land rover challenge was funny too.
But the mud thing, the coral reef one, and other shit is what I find just a chore to watch, imo at least.

All I do in Assetto Corsa is touge runs. Barely any interest in the rest of the game's "content." Did enough of the career to get to the point that I had gold'd everything until it makes me drive nothing but BMWs with faggot paddles and got really bored with that.

So now all I do is try to make drifting fast again. Recently installed the night weather mod/ppfilter. Fuck, it's dark.

This is AC right?
Say, the templates provided are only for the body (which I find bullshit since they provide full set to freelance paid modders), so I'm using a content manager or whatever it's called to find what other files it uses to render other parts.
So, I open the .kn5 file, export the mesh from say, the windows, the exterior body thingies (like headlights, bits of chrome, etc.), and stuff like that... but the one I have only exports mesh, it doesn't give me the AO, UV map, stuff like that.
I can "cheat" by finding those files from other, already made, skins, but other than that it's a bit of a pain in the ass if there's no already made pack or something similar.
I found about different programs, like Substance Painter, but since I'm not a professional or student, it's not clear to me how to make it work (and it's not out in the open in forums as easily as photoshop files/guides/tips).

I wrote too much, but, could you describe your workflow?

Sounds like you're biting off more than you can chew. Start of by making simple liveries with block colours and no designs that go across multiple panels (See pic). I know it can be painful, but you need to start somewhere. And Photoshop is arguably the best tool for creating skins with, if you're having trouble

Oh, I can make a livery in photoshop no problem (besides whole car gradients), in summary what I'd like to know is if there's something that's basically like painting on a 3D model in real time, not photoshop > save > see 3D model > repeat.
I found a method to do full projections of decals without needing to match anything, with perspective and all that, but it needs like 2 programs besides photoshop. But it's only for that, it won't do alpha channels real time or anything like that.

I can't say much about it because I don't have the game but I remember looking for some drift videos in the hopes of people doing some crazy shit and getting really dissapointed.Multiple people I saw just drifted by going to certain locations like a parking lot or certain village, drifting the same line in that location like 10 times and then heading back to the previous location, drifting the same line there 10 times, rinse and repeat
What pissed me off the most was how these lines were a circuit, but they would never drift continuously,instead always stopping at the end and making it really fucking boring.

Can't say much about Forza 7 ofcourse because nothing has been announced about it but judging from what's already known about pCars 2, it will have more content and some more advanced stuff like dynamic surfaces but apart from that will likely suffer from the same problems that pCars 1 did. Namely bad physics, bad controller setup that's intentionally difficult and confusing and lots of bugs and glitches.

Also, Forza 7 will most likely have crossplay between XBone and PC players, meaning a bigger playerbase. But to be fair, I haven't researched if pCars2 will also have crossplay

If you get good FPS without, you won't need it

What you absolutely do need though is the 4GB Patch so the game can use 4GB of RAM. Otherwise you won't be able to join in races with high car numbers.

I'm sorry, but I don't think so. So the GT3 race is 7 days later than usual. Who cares? There's plenty of other stuff (dare I say more important stuff) to do on a weekend and if you're so hellbent on racing, why don't you join RANWEC or the GTR 2 race? Or do something else entirely? And if you have something to do next week, it's not the end of the world.

A well made auto is faster than anything manual. But the amount of additional speed you get is only worth it if you're already on the edge everywhere else. It doesn't matter for when you're driving your dreadful car at snail speeds, like you do every day.

Somewhat less exciting in some way, but efficiency is always only exciting for nerds. Computers from the past 17 years are very boring. I miss having to edit text files to remove drivers to free memory to play Doom. I miss the raw mechanical sound of an old hard drive spinning and scratching. I miss the satisfying clang of a monochrome CRT turning on. I miss it when cars didn't have assists and only existed with sticks.

They ran the low drag configuration at Sugo and Autopolis in 2014 because those tracks hadn't been upgraded to handle a 1000kg car with the cornering speed of a prototype. Of course that doesn't really help but still.

Anyway, as at the time there was no crack for the latest version with the race only a short time away, and as there was only one race remaining after that, we decided to keep the server as it was in it's stable state.

They should have the other rear wing modeled from the DTM cars anyways, so the idea may just be to work on the GT500 specific configuration.

I think the main issue we had at the time was that the anonymous login was no longer working for steamcmd.

But whatever, there's no point in updating the server now with less than 24 hours to the race (remember all the times we've done that in the past and the drama it causes?) and plus it being on an older version that we used forever and know to be stable isn't a bad thing when it comes to ISI products.
