Fresh out of college, making 65000$/year, need a new car.

I'm not much of a car guy but I want to be one now that I have the means to indulge in an expensive hobby. What are some good entry level car enthusiast vehicles. I'd prefer used vehicles, I have gotten the poor out of me yet and depreciation really grinds my gears.

I enjoy the looks of the audis if that helps any my br/o/s

just get the new civic si when it's finally released

>not too heavy, around 3k lbs for sedan

>~25k USD
my only concern is reliability if they stick with the 1.5T engine and just boost the hell out of it, but should be the best combination of fun/practical/cheap you can get

Fuck off. You're not a real enthusiast.

you have a lot to learn before you earn the title "Car Enthusiast"
>>
>>16627096
You could possibly afford a $20k 2014 CPO ATS if you want a relatively sporty entry level luxury car. I would recommend actually starting work before buying a car to make sure that you have a steady income.

Try a used Japanese enthusiast platform that is semi-decent. Like a G-series Infiniti or some sort of Lexus like an LS400 of some sort or GS350.

do what literally everyone else in your situation does and buy a cpo bmw. you can pretend to be a 'car guy' and enjoy showing off your 'ultimate driving experience' badgemobile all while being gently caressed by all the italian leather and fake wood your student loans and meager yet vaguely respectable salary will let you.

>>
>>16627835
Over about 250hp FWD is traction limited. There is nothing wrong with FWD in a commuter econobox that doesn't come close to its limits, but once you start trying to put power down, torque steer, wheel hop, and understeer are hard to fight.

If you want an Audi get an Audi. Ignore the spastic anti VAG droolers on this board. Any quality German or Japanese car of a recent year will need parts and maint, what a guy said earlier is a good rule, if you buy a $20K used car be prepared to put that much into it over the life of the car to keep it properly running.

For that much you could pick up a recent A4 with a 3.2 or even an A6 if you want to go a year or two older.
>>
>>16627885
Is that why the Civic destroys RWD cars on the burgerking
>>
>>16627096

2.3t mustang.

Don't hate.

Looks good, smooth drive, decent mpk sick interior. warranty 50000mile

Not much to mod on it, obviously not as fast as a 5.0. Uh... not awd. But those are the only cons i can think of.

Just get rid of it after 40k should last you 2-3years and the style is timeless.

>recent A4 with a 3.2 or even an A6 if you want to go a year or two older.

Where do you live that Audi still offers an A4 with a 3.2 L? Not in the North American market unless your definition of recent is a vehicle from 2011.
>>
>>16628359

Not him, but what comparably priced sporty RWD cars do new Civics beat?
>>
E9X M3

Decently reliable
Insanely fun to drive
25-35k gets you a decent specimen
40K+ gets you a low mile babbyd machine
>>
>>16628538
You're not too bright if you actually believe that audi is any good at all.

I'm in the same spot but I'd like to work on my car and do light mods. Still not 100% on what I want but these are the things I'd like
>fast and/or fun
>moderately reliable
>practical (cargo space, roof rack, bike rack)
>manual

3rd gen WRX hatch or Mazda3 hatch seem to be my best options.. are there any I'm overlooking?
>>
Get a GTI faggot
>>
>>16632065
Get an unmolested speed3 and molest it. Makes more whp more reliably mod for mod vs a WRX/STi/Focus.

MK7 GTI's can make more power than a speed 3 but lack of LSD becomes an actual issue when you're pushing 300+ to the front wheels. And the stock GTI clutch sucks balls. Newest WRX's can make about the same power as MS3, maybe a tad more, but considerably more expensive.

Intake + hpfp internal + tmic/dp/2nd cat delete/cat back (pick at least 3 of those 4) and a good tune will get you ~280 whp/320 tq on 93 and ~310 whp/340 tq on E85 (+/- 10 depending on environment).

And a $1250 BNR turbo kit + meth or E85 on a fully bolted car will raise you to 390 whp/380 wtq. Good luck getting that on any of the above cars. Stock MS3 blocks/clutches/transmission/diffs are reliably holding that power for 80,000+ miles.
>>
>muh fiesta, STI, Miata, FRS/BRZ
Fartcan riceboxes are for people still in highschool/college OP. Get a Corvette, or a Mustang if you want more than 2 seats. If you want something fun but more practical than a car, get a 6.2 Silverado or a 5.0 F-150. Ram 2500 Cummins if you want a diesel.
