So I have an 87 Daytona I got for free. It's been in a field for 18 years. I'm gonna cut the blow 2.4 out and RWD swap it. I have a 700r4 I got for free. I have a Ford 8.8 out of an F150 I got for free. I have a. Edelbrock 600 cfm carb I found in the ditch that works. So now I'm thinking, where do I find a free small block GM? I'm thinking of just a 305 since they're not worth anything. Ideas?

Is this the new copy pasta?
>>16625261
No. I'm serious. Can't find one cheaper than 300 bucks. I mean I'm open to other ideas. Any other cheap drivetrains I can buy from LKQ for a few hundred?
>>16625248
You are better off working off this
this is worse than the 4wd MR2
>>16625248
>RWD swap it
Have you even considered the amount of work that goes into converting a car that was originally designed to be FWD into RWD without completely ruining everything?
>>16625502
>yfw this is a documented process
>>16625248
Sounds like a lot of work to build something you're just gonna throw away

Like cutting the entire floor to make room for a driveshaft
Well, I have a shop. Tools. Cutter, welder, shit lying around. Time to kill. I just called friends, asked what junk they had lying around. I scored an entire drivetrain for free. And I got a 305 that was a coffee table for free. Found heads on an old truck intl junkyard next door, going to take the TBI off it too. I mean money wise I have nothing invested, so why not. The things junk anyways.

I've dreamed of finding a nice starion for a decent price, but I just never catch one on Craigslist in time.
>>16625502
people do it to civics all the time
basically chop up the rear of the car and bolt a new subframe up to. then just frankenstein some suspension and you're good to go

>305
I have a 305 powered '92 Camaro
It makes a ground pounding 170 HP
I think you may want to rethink your power choice, as that motor may be better as a coffee table.
>>16625248
OP, if you have to ask anything about this, you do not possess the skill required to RWD swap it. Sell it to someone on the turbododge forums and buy a RWD car

>as that motor may be better as a coffee table.
true story.
>>16628009
See, but that's the thing. So what if I've never done this before? I have good friends who'd be willing to help me, with decent knowledge. And we all have to start somewhere. It's a learning experience. If I fail, it's no loss. It's a car I found in the ditch. I've found step by step instructions on how to do it, it's really not that bad other than cutting out the floor.
>>16627976
The whole point is I got all the shit for free. Your not wrong. The 305 is a better coffee table. Only free 350 I found was missing the crank. We have a dirt track at my buddy's house, the property he's on used to be the county fairgrounds. The plan is to make it the official track car. Hence the shitty parts, we don't want to put any money into it.
Well quit shitposting here and get to work, what the fuck kind of question is where do I find a free SBC? You go to junk yards and lurk on Craigslist damn, not rocket science
