Watch this kiddo.

I like that type of older bike.
Also wash your bike.
If you have no money to sort anything.
Use black electrical tape on the seats to hide a tears.

When you get money, make sure your brakes are good. Tyres look good enough for now.

Motorcyclists were 27 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a crash per vehicle mile traveled, and almost five times more likely to be injured.

So when a taxi rolls over and kills ten, I should be dead 300 times over.

YO

Had a blast speeding home from a party yesterday at 2am. The loud exhaust made everything just right. The echoes going past the trucks, shifting at redline in tunnels, chavs in front of clubs asking me to gas it... it was blissful.

1. dunno, haven't ridden it, I'm sure it's good, they don't really make bad bikes these days.

Will sound awful though.

2. Cheap vs Expensive helmets are not necessarily safer or less safe, do your own research here, sharp tests, ECE vs SNELL etc.

Imo expensive helmets are much nicer because I've never been happy with a cheap helmets, the nicer expensive ones are usually lighter, more comfortable, have nicer features, are quieter etc. So don't hold back because it's better to buy a good helmet once than to have to replace the cheapie with a goodie later.

The main thing to think about is fit, make sure the helmet is making full contact and fits snugly around the crown of your head, that's the important bit, a properly fitting helmet will feel tight around your jaw and mouth when new but that's okay because they "bed" and loosen up after 2 weeks or so.

If you feel like the helmet is a little tight around the cheeks and stuff but not the top of the head don't be tempted to go a size up, it'll loosen up.

It is more or less a budget DL-Vstrom.
Parts are expensive for things like ferings and tank. Engine is a Suzuki Tl 1000s motor. Very powerful.

Get a Dl-1000 if you can.
>>
>>16612470
priorities for helmet purchase:
1) safety: beyond the certs like SNELL, sharp tests etc
2) fit: different brands have different shaped internals that are better suited to more oval or more round heads.
3) features: how warm is it in your climate? that'll dictate the ventilation needs. i personally prioritize noise levels as I wanted the quietest fucking helmet i could get
4) style

when you're trying a helmet on it should be tight but not give you a headache after wearing it 10 minutes and yes you should sit there for 10 minutes in the store if you think you might buy it.

for further reading, ESPECIALLY on how to test the fit of a helmet, read up on specifics: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/how-to/fitting-or-not-fitting-helmet

the tl;dr is you shouldn't be able to slide your fingers between your forehead and the helmet, the skin on your cheeks should be dragged when you wiggle/twist the helmet, the helmet shouldnt come off when you push it as far forward/backward as possible, etc.

gl
>>
>>16612631
side note on helmet padding fit: more expensive helmets tend to have a variety of pad sizes you can swap in to the shell.

my rf1200 is a LG cause my head is big but my face is quite skinny so I had to size up to bigger cheek pads to get proper fit - so if you find something that fits really well on the top of your head but not your face you might be able to remedy that.

In practical terms, nothing, when talking about bikes. (Aircraft is a different matter however).

Technically speaking, a 'cowling' is supposed to refer to an engine cover, or a panel that supports the windscreen and instruments/controls. A fairing, however, simply refers to any structure that reduces drag or offers protection from wind/rain.

Essentially, all cowlings are fairings, but not all fairings are cowlings.

thats pretty much it unless you have a huge ultrasonic cleaner and new bearings on hand.
you can spray it all down with a mix of mineral spirits and good car engine oil and the solvent and detergents will help loosen it all up. be warned you will make a big goddamn mess doing this

No, you have to be at least 110lbs, 90 would be best for a trap.

>>16613983
You're pretty much doing it already to be fair. Normally, I spray on some degreaser, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, scrub with a stiff nylon brush, then wash it off with clean water. This gets rid of most of the shit, then I use soapy water and a sponge/microfiber cloth to bring back a bit of a sheen.

You can get specific brushes for wheels and fiddly components, but they're a bit of a waste as a toothbrush does the same thing anyway.

>>
>>16614251
So what you're saying is that since the most dangerous place is the house, that guy's actually making his wife/daughter MORE safe by taking them out on his bike instead.

Seriously though, this sort of reductionist thinking just leads to the inevitable conclusion that none of us should ever do anything or go anywhere without protective clothing, whether we're out on a bike or walking to the store. Somewhere, you have to draw a line and say 'accidents happen', and that line should be drawn a long, long way before we reach the level of danger inherent in putting along at 4mph with both feet down over some small rocks.

Walking across slippery wet stones and slipping is a common thing. A 700lb motorcycle will find purchase on/between a rock very easily and there is very little chance of the bike sliding completely out from under the riders in such a situation.

On the other hand a kid walking across some rocks and slipping is very likely.

Unless you're going to advocate kids wearing helmets when playing in creeks, you haven't a leg to stand on.

>What have my riding skills

Your lack of skill would explain your autism when it comes to wearing gear at ltierally less than 5mph.

I honestly don't understand why you guys are so mad at me for saying that hitting your head after falling at 5mph on a rock can easily result in death. Seems pretty obvious to me.

Go out and fall with the head on a rock if you think it's so safe.

>>16614483
>Walking across slippery wet stones and slipping is a common thing
Lolno, what are you a handicapped with no balance?

Rocks in a creek can be very unstable, usually you predict if it will be unstable and balance your weight in a way to not make them move too much and not slip. Have you ever hiked?
Anyway, you can't do that with a bike.
>>
>>16614535
Have you ever been outside in your life.

Wet stones in a creek typically have a slippery moss covering. Walking on them is very slick when wet. A kid walking on them is very likely to fall.

Probably much more likely than his father slowly riding across them on a stable motorcycle.

Your autism is rediculous.

There are times to advocate gear, If that same bike and family were doing 70mph on the highway you'd have a point. But literally nothing about rolling across a creek on that bike in that situation is any more dangerous than those same people walking across that same creek.

You are a retard and a pussy, you probably don't even ride a bike.

Also how the fuck do you think those people got there in the first place? Do you think they live in the woods? And if you fall on the highway you most certainly won't risk to get hit by edged surfaces, there are other risks.
