So, /o/, I know this is 4chan, but, I am in desperate need of help, as you can see here, this is my 2006 Toyota corolla matrix, with 250,000 miles, and I had a little accident with it which I will most certainly not allow my insurance provider to find out about, I was turning left on a street at ~40mph, and, since the front tires were worn practically bald and I hadn't noticed, that probably didn't help, but , the car slipped, and both wheels on the right side ran into the curb, the front wheel hitting it the hardest, the car bounced back and landed on the road, I was able to drive it home fortunately, but, I don't know how much it will be to fix it, if if anyone needs any more pictures I will provide them, the engine appears to run perfectly fine. Can anyone please give me a repair estimate?
TL;DR I was playing initial d in real life, car slipped, wheels hit the curb and I want to know if it's fixable and how much it will cost to fix.
Take non-blurry pictures, please
>>16610770
sounds like just the rims are damaged.
>>16610770
you better hope the control arms are what took the blow. If they didn't deform it went straight into the subframe which is now bent. you'll need new wheels, hub, control arms, knuckle, tie rods, maybe a steering rack, and maybe a sway bar and link.
>>16610770
if you didnt hear any noises afterwards or the car felt any different the car should be fine. the only excpetion is you might need to get your rims repaired and tires replaced
>>16610793
>>16610782
It rolls like a hotwheel with a bent axle on one side
As you can clearly see, the front took most of the damage
As much as I hate to say it, I feel like this car is pretty much toast.
>>16610812
>>16610821
>As you can clearly see
>post the blurriest pictures know to man kind
anon no can't help if can't see
>>16610770
People pay money to stance their cars. You just did it for free.
>>16610854
kek underrated, just buy a dank vape and tons of vape juice and stand around in a parking lot
>>16610821
just get it checked out man, you might just need control arms or the whole thing is fucked, but you wont know until you have it checked out
>>16610869
if its bad enough he should feel it while driving desu?
>>16610876
I can't drive over 30 without fear that wheels gonna pop off.
>>16610849
Sorry about my POS phone I'll take some more
>>16610797
just jack up your car and tell us the damage underneath
>>16610889
On it
>>16610876
Yeah but it can also be pretty bad and you won't notice anything. Some people are bad at noticing shit wrong with their car so their judgment of a bad feeling is very skewed. Op seems to realise that this needs to be fixed
>>16610941
Now I just think you're posting blurry pictures on purpose
>>16610941
>suspension damage intensifies
>>16610941
Holy FUCK use a different phone or steady your hands. How could you possibly think this picture was worth lookinh at?
I am praying for your car to be fucked
>>16610954
No please fucking help please
>>16610941
Jesus Christ your phone is potato
>>16610941
kek
>im going to post better pictures
post blurriest picture so far lmao
>>16610958
judging by your photo you are leaking green shit, i'd say it's fucked.
>>16610958
Your axle is leaking .
Take a picture of your tie rods
>>16610971
What are those?
>>16610958
I'll help op you're picture after that was much better, you can try to rest your camera against something to get it steadier and a clearer shot. Try to take a picture of the backside of the wheel so we can see the bar that connects the hub to the car
OP what the fuck are you doing my man
>>16610974
Take the same picture only so the center of the wheel is in the center of the frame of the shot
>>16610958
m8 your axle is fucked
>>16610974
They look like these they are attached to your steering rack
>>16610950
When they tell you to lube your suspension they don't mean to jack off onto it.
inb4 scissor jack falls and car lands on ops head
Op read this while you calm down. http://www.carbibles.com/suspension_bible.html
You can bring your car to a shop and pay them to fix it. They won't tell your insurance or the police if you're in America or most places
You can compare everything on the left side to the ones on the right and see what's different. Whatever's different on the left side will need to be replaced
I think it's donzo. Looks like everything is fucked up.
Does OP have the shakes or what? I'm dying over here
>>16611012
Lower control arm or hub is most certainly bent, your CV axle is rubbing against the sway bar link but the axle needed to be replaced anyways because of the grease on the other side.
>>16610974
please tell me you're not under the car if it is just supported by that jack...
>>16611026
I just put my arm under from fear of that thing
>>16611019
Give it a good kick, post results
>>16611019
Control arm bent
Wheel gouged
Sway bar end link leaking
Axle leaking
Replace all of these
>>16611019
>>16611025
Your hub is probably OK, just the lower control arm. Whay is the make and model and year of your vehicle?

ok, good.
Inserting myself into thread, is this healthy
>>16611034
this
Get some junkyard parts and go to work, OP. Or pay somebody to do it. Just tell them you're paying out of pocket.
>>16611054
Probably better replace those tires soon. Do the penny test and get back to us.
>>16611034

>>16611061
I'll Google penny test, thanks for the response.
I blame PA and the motherfuckimg salted roads
Also, the back tire
>>16611061
>>16611077
Kek
>>16611055
Op expect to pay up to 3 times this price at a shop to replace all that labor included
>>16611096
Aforgot pic. Rock auto.com btw
>>16611107
Fucked up you need a front sway bar link should be a similar price>>16611107
I imagine the rear tire is going to cost MUCH less to repair given it doesn't do much but roll.
>>16611096
That was why I mentioned telling them he was paying out of pocket. If he finds a sympathetic mom+pop mechanic they may be willing to work with him on cost.
>>16610770
Buy oem parts.
>>16611286
Edit: and be sure to get the ones made in the exact month/year yours was produced by the same assembly line worker who had the same breakfast that morning with the same tools and with the same factory color code or it's not worth shit

Make sure you aren't leaking oil from the transaxle bearing. If that was damaged because the sliding of the car into the curb shoved the axle into the transaxle bearing, then that will be the real damage. Hopefully the control arms and pivot joint inside that rubber boot took all the beating.
>>16611673
>transaxle
>rear wheels of FWD car
>>16610770
>front tires were worn practically bald and I hadn't noticed
How the fuck do you not notice?
0/10
>>16611019
I did this on my old car and it will never feel quite right again.
Just get some parts from the wreckers and have the local shop whack it on cheap then flip it.
You will be lucky if you dont have frame damage.
You where going double the speed i was and the extra 15mph or so 40mph vs the 25mph i was going
You totalled your car mate its a 11 year old rusty bucket of shit just junk it
Next time dont be a fucking retard and drive around on bald tyres with no brakes like we've all been there but holy fuck man.
For the cost I'd rather sell it and buy a new shitbox
Matrix was my first car and one of my last memories of it were running bald tires in the rain. I drive like a normal person though, it got totaled when highway suddenly went to a stop and person behind didn't react or w/e and smashed me between him and an suv.
y'all leave OP alone.
>blurry lives matter
>>16610770
Pls get 4 new tires while your at it
>>16611001
Non American here, what happens if his insurance finds out of thus guy's little curb adventure?
Hey OP what model phone do you have? I wanna make sure my next one doesn't come with a frostyfilter on by default like yours.
>>16611850
