The battery could be dead if the generator went out.

It happened to me once,
>just riding along
>engine sputters a bit then dies
>coast to stop
>try to start
>engine cranks a bit like the voocaroo link
>try to bump start it
>still nothing

The battery was dead. Jumping the battery fixed it.

But OP could be dealing with no oil (causing seizing pistons) which would really suck balls.
