With the 5.0 refresh bumping Mustang GTs power to within a few HP of the LT1, what will GMs answer be?
Historicaly, they've had an engine between their supercharged top model and their base V8, like the LS7 in the V6 Z06 and 5th gen Z28.
So will it be:
> ~550hp huge literage "LT7"
> ~550hp DOHC V8 "Northstar 2.0"
> Some uprecended V6TT or hybrid bullshit
>>16590698
>implying that engine can even come close to passing emissions testing
boy gm fags are stupid
New lt5 with dohc and vvti
Something like OP's pic? Just an LT1 with a more aggressive cam? Surely they won't stick the LT1 in the mid-engine Vette in 2018.
Will it be worth it to buy a new mustang or just stick with 2017 when it gets cheaper?
camaro will still be faster, lol
the camaro smokes the mustang so bad right now, 20hp isn't going to make that big of a difference

>meanwhile, the 7.0 LS7 and 6.2 LT1 and 8.4 Viper V10 have no issues with emissions regs
Please kill yourself you absolute waste of a human being
>>16592613
>meanwhile, these irrelevant examples have no issues with emissions regs
Good job you dropkick.
>>16592622
>meanwhile, these larger engines that use more fuel and make more power are entirely irrelevant
Neck yourself

It still can't pass emissions, moron. Keep sperging

DOHC LT5. They already have the part number in their catalog, and they will use it in the C7 ZR1 and probably in the 6th gen Camaro Z/28.

But the LT1/LT4 already have VVT. VVT-i is just a brand new by the way.
>>16592112
I personally think they'll do the following:
>Front engined C7 with LT1/supercharged LT4/DOHC LT5
>Mid engined ''D7'' with DOHC LT5/ turbocharged LT9
And then around 2020, a new front engined C8. with a revised LT1, LT9 and LT5. I highly doubt GM will drop the front engined cashcow, and just make the mid-engined just shy of 570S/Porsche Turbo pricepoint.

Will this fit in my F-body and mate to a 4L80?
>>16593899
Yes and yes. I'd use a TH400 though.
>>16590698
It's already been confirmed the new engine is going to be a DOHC 6.2L LT5.
>>16593570
Capacity and economy does not equal emissions you lowest common denominator retard.
One day you might find your place in the world... and that'll probably be in the back of a trash compactor.
>GM fangirls
>being backwards retarded
As expected I guess.
So if it's a DOHC LT5, how big will it be?
It's got to make 550hp to beat out the Voodoo
Bump for more wishful thinking Corvette fangirl faggotry.
>>16590795
>emissions testing
Cucked hahahaha
>>16596680
That's literally every factory fitted engine you down syndrome mouth breather. Hence why this engine cannot be factory fitted.
