Thoughts on the 2017 STi vs the Focus RS? I want to own one long term as a daily driver and a fun car on backroads as I commute a lot for my job. I'm gonna be test driving them within the next week but want to know if anyone has opinions. Price wise, I talked down the Ford Dealership by ~$650 from their MSRP but the Subaru dealership is giving me $2.9k off. So final price with tax is for the STi is $36k vs $39.5 for the RS.
So far I'm leaning towards the STi as the dealership is offering lifetime warranty on the powertrain so long as I maintain the scheduled maintenance (which I plan to) and includes wear item for the first 3yrs/36,000 miles. As far as I can tell though, both equally fun and fast. The RS has some funky pedals though.

O i am laffin
The RS is faster and newer. The Subaru warranty will be void as soon as you mod it. You better not be thinking that you'll keep it stock forever because a new STI is slower than a 5 year old STI.
