This one time I was doing 81 and I saw a cop on the end of a onramp. It looked like he started to move as I passed him so I quickly changed lanes to the far right and got off at the next exit. The end

In 2011 or 2012 I once got away from a charger state trooper in my 175-mph STi (pic related) in a full, nearly 20-mile long pursuit. I've told the story here enough times in the past. I'm still ashamed of all the lives I endangered. It was in rural Florida (panhandle) so they didn't have helicopters or backup.

I've evaded plenty of other cops in this way though: They are on the side of the road scanning, they tag me and turn on their lights, I WOT and get off on the next exit.

I was driving down a street with stop signs with a speed limit of 30mph at 100 mph and slowing to 80 to check thinnest intersection

I go into the beginning of a steep hill at over 100, there is a flat cross street and then more up hill after a intersection and stop sign

I jumped about half intersection and noticed a cop sitting at the stop sign that i could not see coming up the hill

he flips on his lights, i tap the break hesitating then floor it and make the first right, then do a series of left and right turns going in a diagonal direction and improvising when necessary
i pull over and get out of the car and walk home i hear the cop car sirens and him flooring the engine driving around i felt bad the poor guy could have killed someone

Friend and I were in his 13b swapped geo metro (yes you read that correctly, and I wish I had pics) one time, hooning the fuck out of this thing on i-5 and country back roads at about 3am one night, we flew passed a cop at what had to be well beyond 110, saw lights and sirens and he pulled over after we finally managed to slow down because the brakes were cooked. Cop comes up laughing hysterically saying we should've kept going, no one would've believed he was in pursuit of a geo.

I have extensive experience in this, even if it's less dramatic than one might think. I avoided police as a 'profession' for about five years, have many stories on how that went. Here's my first one, one of the only times I actively ran away from cops.

That's the closest I have been to getting caught, there have been many other incidents tho, mostly on bikes but one with a car but it was more of an evasion than an escape.

One time I was hitting touge with a friend and we unknowingly passed by a cop going 100+ mph on a long straightaway, he pulled out behind us but we were long gone by then so mever knew we got tagged. Few minutes later we pull up behind a truck going 10 under and start waiting for a straightaway we can pass on. Friend eas driving in front, I was behind him. Eventually my friend decided to just say fuck it and pass on a double yellow line blind corner. This happened right as the cop caught up to us and flipped his lightson and he ended up passing me and going after my friend instead of me. I dipped off on a turn and parked in the dirt about a mile off the main road. Friend tried running but pulled over when he saw another cop car waiting ahrad. Apparently they sent out another car to look for me too but they didn't find me

One time I was driving a 1980 Ford F100 with the old 300 i6 in it. there was 3 people in the front cabin and 2 people in the bed of the truck holding in a 4 wheeler that broke down earlier and we were taking back home. It was about 2 in the morning and the truck had no working headlights, no license plate, no insurance, no papers, not a fucking thing. Anyway we are almost home and I hear my buddy in the back pounding on the window saying LIGHTS LIGHTS FUCKING POUND ON IT. I turn back and see that there is a cop with its lights on just behind a corner and I got about 3 seconds to get off the road before the bitch sees me again. So I pound this piece of shit ford to the floor and the engine makes this groaning dying sound and fly down a dirt road. At this point the 4 wheeler in the back slammed against the tailgate so hard it broke the tailgate off and was dragging on the road. Two guys in the back were holding on to the bike for dear life and I was trying to correct out of a drift since I drove in way too hard. I went up a hill into a subdivision and drove into some guys yard behind his house and killed the engine and hopped out into the woods, cops drove up and looked around but couldn't find us or the truck. Not all police cars are traffic units and not all of them are equipped with radar.
Its also a pain in the ass with certian prosecutors to file a citation for speeding using non radar methods such as pacing or gps and this most times these units wont even pack a traffic book.
Higher class misdemeanors such as reckless driving, dwi, racing on the hwy dont require traffic books or citations and ate arrestable offenses.

At the end of the chase I had gotten far enough ahead that when I got to the top of a hill - killing his vision of me - I pulled into a densely-forested dirt road (prob some redneck's driveway) and just watched the trooper blast by lights blazing.
