I need your knowledge /o/.

I just recently got my drivers licence and inherited my grandpa's 99 Megane. It's great but the radio beeps every two seconds saying code on every beep and I can't enter the code because the steering controls just change the station when I push the wheel. On some forums people said to do a factory reset but it didn't help at all. Thought about just getting an aftermarket radio but I'm not sure that it will work with the steering controls. I am an eurofag if that matters. How should I go around fixing the beeping and is it possible to use steering controls with an aftermarket radio?

I'm no expert in any sense of the word, but if your car has a 1-DIN/2-DIN radio then the steering wheel controls are hooked up to the radio, so they should work with the new radio aswell

Atleast, thats how I think it works, dont quote me on it

If those 1-DIN/2-DIN images that I can find on google images are correct the connection is round, correct? There is only one round connection and I believe that is the antenna.

He needs a adaptor box but most modern headunits just use Android or iPhones as remotes.

He should shove a single din plus a pocket

Could you bother to explain more? I have no clue what you said. What kind of adaptor box should I look for?

You're probably right, I forgot about that

Could be a good idea to call an audio shop and ask what they have what'll fit with what they sell and your car.

Still, do you wanna go through this much trouble with an old Megane? How often does one really use steering wheel buttons anyways?
