Is there any way to meet the newest American diesel emissions standards without an SCR system and DPF? The 3.2L I5 Ford Powerstroke looks like it would be interesting to swap into various vehicles.
No.

What shit-tier car deserves the punishment of having its engine replaced with a fucking DIESEL?

the Japs and Euro's diesels absolutely BTFO anything on the american market. get a 4BD1T out of an Isuzu NPR and throw it in whatever you want. its a favorite among 4x4 enthusiasts who don't get caught up in the Cummins meme.
better yet would be pic related or anything from the germans.

Ecotoot is arguably the gayer of the two. Diesels are just for eurocucks and rednecks.

I-it's more about the platform for me...

The 3.2L is not like the other ones!

IIRC it's made in South Africa and the design comes from Ford's global interests, not the American FoMoCo

If it's non turbo you probably can. I've got hino S05C non turbo motors at work that get emissions compliance without the EGR that the N04C turbo motors all have. This is only for euro 4 level though I presume current US standards sit a bit higher
