Here in the Netherlands we usually relate to the distance it takes to consume 1 Liter. My car does 1 on 10 which means i get on average 10 Kilometers out of a Liter. My parents car does 1 on 16.

Doesn't 10 on 1 make more sense?
10km on 1l
1l on 10km
>>
>>16544086
why can't we just use

km per liter
>>
>>16546064
Because everyone's used to l/100km

Correct, that is how those systems measurement work. Good job, anon!

>Giving a shit about MPG in the first place when cars all basically around the same

Unless we are talking about 30+ MPG difference or something, it just isn't enough for me to give a shit to be honest.

Give me a car that gets 25 MPG and car that gets 35 MPG and the MPG doesn't even register to me at that point. There isn't enough difference for it to be a factor in my purchasing and daily driving decision.

Something gets 10 MPG and the other thing gets 60 MPG THEN I will notice and it becomes a significant factor in deciding which to purchase because the cost the difference in fuel consumption is something worth note.

Most cars just brag about 2-8 MPG differences these days and that just doesn't cut the mustard.

It doesnt because why bother with fractions? european cars dont have MPG as shit as america hence almost no car uses 1L per 10km.
6L per 100 is right.
>>
Here in Norway we say "How many litres per mil", with "mil" being our word for the distance of 10 kilometres
