Headlight knob has nothing to do with that. Actually funny story I used to not be able to see my tach until I was waiting on my gf to get in and I was playing with switches and knobs and turned the headlight knob to find out hey my dash lights actually do work.

Same here. Also if you turn it the other way the interior lights come on and i dont have to sit with the door open anymore.

Just buy some PIAA or KC under 50W headlights for under $100 and wire them in yourself. That solves the issue, normally. They might have road lights too.

Buy clear lens housings and Acme Super projectors, throw in cheapo ebay H1 HIDs.
$80 plus the housings and you'll have headlights better than most new cars.
