Do any of you faggots know how the rev limiter works on motorcycles? I know car's cut fuel so it causes a jerking sensation as the car rapidly switches from full throttle to engine braking, but how do motorcycles do it? Particularly sport bikes...I am guessing the jerking sensation would be pretty detrimental when you're in a corner or some shit and you accidentally hit the rev limiter
Probably spark cut, so you'll see it spit flames from the unburnt fuel.

same way
>carbs cant flow enough fuel/cam not aggressive enough for high rpm, engine won't rev more
>ECU not programmed to work above certain RPM, will not send signals to injectors

>jerking sensation
My car doesn't do that at all. Running into the rev limiter is so smooth, if you didn't hear the engine screaming you'd be wondering why it stopped accelerating.

It depends on the particular bike but the principles are the same as you find on cars.
And hitting the rev limiter in the corner is pretty hard with the gearing on most sportbikes DESU

Fuel cut is the standard strategy. Spark cut causes more engine stress from detonation. It is not uncommon for the RB26 to shatter its turbos when people replace the stock rev limiter with a spark cut instead of fuel cut.
