It's all about looks, really. The Fabia looks pretty cool and the power upgrade you get with the Polo doesn't really matter, it's still just an econobox. Don't like the design of the Fiesta and Astra.
They're all pretty much equal in terms of reliability according to 2017 tüv report. Don't know what the exact price differences are.

What about other things like safety/comfort/boot size etc. whats the best option here? I also heard the polo had a lot of little issues(indicator lights, boot not closing etc)

i've got a 2013 polo and i've never had any sort of non mechanical issue at about 75k kms
don't know if it's common with the newer ones though
