I don't see the issue. The Leaf is supposed to appeal to urbanites who don't really like cars in the first place but don't want to be bus cucks or lycrafags. It's a cheap electric POS because that's all the buyers expect of it. It's also easy as shit to park because it's so small, and the "driving is a chore" crowd probably sucks at parking so this helps.

Tesla is going for younger buyers with the 0-60 time and emphasis on its ability to wipe the owner's bum while taking them to and fro point A to B. It's a big boat with more prestige and the Model S with the fake grille doesn't look half bad. I can't say the same for how the Model 3 and X look, though. The fake grille was a comforting touch and something feels wrong about how they look without it.
