Why does everybody say that Forrest Wang has the best drifting style? What makes his style different from the other FD drivers?
Hi Forrest.
Nobody thinks your style is better. They just like your car because it's closer to JDM drift cars than most.
But using a 2JZ in a Nissan is still and will always be retarded.

What are you calling me Forrest for?
Dont want to make a thread so I'll ask here
If Drifting was developed as a technique to get a better line through hairpin turns when did it become a "aesthetic performance" competition and less of a "race"?
Like all of Initial D were races and not how drift comp is today
>>16530778
Probably when americans touched it... But now i am curious about that as well
>>16530778
drifting originated from power sliding in rally stages.
then tsuchiya came along and made it popular on the track for a flashy show
>>16530778
Don't try to find logic or reason in drifting. It's just for fun.
>>16530801
I thought he did it because it got him better times
What's with all these recent edgy drift threads...
>>16530778
>Initial D
Is and always will be a fictional anime. Stop fucking getting driving technique information from a cartoon.
>>16530785
Americans ruined it by overbuilding everything and making it more of a competition than fun. In Japan, it is way more about having fun and just driving than it will ever be about competition.

Some 18 year old has discovered drifting. I remember making stupid threads back in the day too..
>>16530673
His smooth line and how close he can get to the lead car in tandem but Andrew Gray is better at that
>>16530839
What lacks in American drifting is drifting tandem closer to other cars on track like they do in Japan but with the recent growth of grassroots and team drifting in the US tandem is becoming a staple.

iirc from his interviews he said that he started to drift cause the crowd got bored cause he always won races
