this guy has a lot of interesting ideas, but i don't know how you'd ever measure or evaluate his core theses at anything above a gut level "i like it."

I couldn't say if it has anything to do with crime rates, but people definitely seem to care more about safety, which has led to the acceptance of tougher safety regulations, and thus to the tiny windows. But that is interesting and now I want to research why people are more concerned with safety now.
I guess that makes sense, i see more people with hyundais and nobody wants to touch them with a 12 foot pole
