Honest opinion, it clashes. You're mixing the varying size dot shading with cel shading, and mixing white background with dotted backgrounds (which I personally don't like). It's already an intricate vector, I'd say you're just muddying it with the dots.

you should be using inkscape/ai, because when you say free select section by section, it's really line by line, and turning that into a path.

in terms of "the best way to learn" vectoring, this is a nice tutorial, but the coloring section is pretty crummy and doesn't go indepth to advanced tech.

Idk, that's a little dark for me, but I do like that size better. Looks less like the whole slap was stretched vertically in paint. Some english fonts just don't look good tall. If you went back to the old height, make the lover part of the L's the sale thickness as the vertical parts, same with the E's. That'll fix some of that issue.
