What would be some good options for someone like me that wants a good - reliable - comfortable car under 20k$ and year 2012+? Coupe, sedan, hatchback, suv are all fine. I'm not expecting Mercedes E series level of comfort but I want it to feel as comfortable as possible with a good, premium interior design. Don't care much about power and rear seat space. Would prefer the driving seat spacious though. Automatic transmission is a big plus and older than 2015 is a plus too (newer cars 2015+ are expensive and it doesn't make sense to me)

Why would you want something newer than 2012? You could get a nice ls430 for half that.

I don't want a problematic car that makes me go to the mechanic every 4-5 months. That's why I want a car 2012+. Otherwise I'd totally go for a w212 E Class.

I don't know what's more comfortable or reliable than a Toyota Prius hatchback swathed in extra yards of leather.
