I've got $10k for a cool 80/90s car that has decent mpg but still has power.
I'd prefer pop up lights but not required.
Also I want bigger than a miata, so sedan preferred.
See if you can find a nice SC300 or SC400. Spend the full $10K to get the best example you can find.
Old fucker here. I had pop-ups, and generally glad they're gone. You had to leave them up all winter to keep them from locking up when iced up and stripping out the gears. They generally used crap bulbs / optics from the 1980s, and always seemed to be one of the first things to fail.
I get the nostalgia, but honestly they're more trouble than they're worth on older cars.
Anyway - if you can find a nice one of these go for it. If you want a 4 door the LS400/ LS430s are really nice.
Volvo 240, lets see:
>decent mpg
depends on your definition of decent
>power
fucking kek mate
>cool
It's an acquired aesthetic. 850s and 940s are a bit easier to stomach in terms of boxiness if you're not completely sold on the 240's looks

I just used a pic on hand. I know these things have no real power friendo.

Grew up in FL so we had no ice but I grew up with family car having pop ups. Never got to drive it though.

I think the biggest pro and con of pop-up is aesthetics. I wanted Celica because of that feature, but when my cousin bought 1992 Celica, I just get used to them, drove the car few times and I now just don't care about if the car has them or not. If you want pop-ups so badly, I don' think there were many spacious cars with them. Few cars I can think of:
Acura Integra
Mitsubishi Starion
Mazda 929 HB
Subaru XT

Fuck yeah SC and LS are top tier. The SC is the only think I would trade my 95 LS for, if I eventually want to move onto something sportier
You might like the Mk3 Supra or the Mk3 Prelude.
Dont know about mpg though.

People will hate, but those people have never owned one. My vote is Porsche 944. 10k is the perfect budget for an n/a car. You'll spend 7-8k on a nice late car with a full service history and have money on the table for repairs and maintenance.
>cool
>good mpgs
>pop-ups
>rwd
>body made of real metal, not honda paper mache bullshit

The mk3 has the worst saftey rating... 1 star.
The mark 2 is better all around. 50/50 weight distribution and weights 980 kg. and it looks dope done up.
It also out-handles the 84 Porsche on the slalom
>>16460722
MK3 supra depends N/A you'll get 18ish, turbo maybe 20 without mods.
My 87 turbo average around 16mpg with basic mods and rebuilt engine though I hooned that car.

ye, I like it too but i think its pretty rare.
Is it fwd too?

lewds are dope why does /o/ hate them again?

Because 4'th gen were driven by exclusively douche bags and the H22A from the 4th/5th gen had cylinder walls made from toilet paper.
Also 3'rd gen were deathtraps..

Yeah they were FWD, but they handle amazingly good. Best handling car i have driven. My dad has had it for over 20 years and does not want to sell it ever. Also driving position is 10/10

didnt they have rear wheel steering or something?
Chrysler Conquest tsi
These things are a rare gem
Turbo, rwd, LSD, pop ups, good mpgs and very unique
What more could you need besides 2 more doors?
>4TH GEN FBODY
