Don't be stupid, I've kept my car since 05 and the only major problems it's had is the gear linkage broke and it needed a new ignition coil, in terms of maintenance that's all I've spent on it excluding tyres/oil changes. It's sitting on 181k miles and is a 1.2 petrol.

At least the dealership fixed it. The 2016 is a replacement for her 2011 that's engine shit the bed under warranty. Why is everyone shitting on this before it's even been driven by the general public? It's an affordable RWD 4 door coupe with a fucking ten year warranty.

Even if you don't like Korean shit it's still a pretty damn awesome stand out in the market. The only car that comes anywhere near this is the XE but only the spartan base model is anywhere near cheap.

I don't hate Kia per se, I just hate that they basically copy everyone else and have nothing unique about them other than a long warranty. They pinch little design cues from many existing models and then amalgamate them.
