Hey guys. I've got a 96 Silverado on a set of 15X7 alloys. Wheels came with it and finances are kinda strapped atm. I replaced the front's with 205/50/15 because they were getting chewed up extremely badly with my hard driving (rubber balling and such on corners) now the rear is a 225/75/15 and I think I may have run into some heat cycling or something because the tread is okay but they're old and they're losing grip steadily.
I don't tow or haul more than 50 pounds in the bed and I've got almost 400 torque so I need something to help put it down because right now I'm having trouble leaving a red light normally on a dry day but the water gets muddy because of my driving style. I do like to romp from redlight to redlight but I also do a fair amount of late night mountain runs (I know it's a full-size truck but I enjoy the challenge) so I need something with a piss stiff sidewall without going too short as to ruin my gearing. I'm sitting around 1850 rpm at 60 with the 5 speed manual.
Thoughts that are not sell your truck and buy a car? Pic not related but goals IMO.

These are on my mind right now. I've got Yokohama S-Drives on the front.

Cooper Cobras in 255/70r15. You can get them for $85-100 each depending on where you go.
I run them on the stock 15's on my truck, they've done me well for dd'ing as well as hauling shit in the bed weekly.

I've heard those are trash as it gets. And again at 255/70 they'll roll right off the rim in the middle of a hard turn. Or spin my shit up coming out of it.

A 235/50/15 is going to look silly on a truck. WAY too short.
I'd go with 255/60/15's in the front and 275/60/15's in the rear if you want a beefy look. I had those sizes on my Mirada and it handled pretty good.

They're comparable to the BFG radials every boomermobile has, I've had good luck with them though. I get pretty hektik with my truck and corner hard in it trouble free, traction is only really an issue in the rear end when wet if I'm not watching it.
>you've got about 80ft/lbs on me though
Just my 2 cents, on my second set of them and happy overall.

Boss I'm running 205/50 on the front. That's about as low profile as it gets. I'm not worried about looks. I'm worried about handling without redlining on the interstate

Okay well I'll definitely look into them. I just can't see saving sixty dollars being worth it. Idk but thanks for the input.
I use Nitto neogens on my miata if that helps.
