I have a question for you guys.
What is the advantage of fresh beake fluid?
I am wondering if there will be an effect on the brake feeling, if it's worth it.
I know it is always good to change the brake fluid because it becomes contaminated but the only thing I can think of is when you track the car.
I don't know when the last change was done (if any).
>pic unrelated.
It absorbs water over time making it boil faster. I do it every 2 years. Easy to do, why skip simple maintenance?

I am always tight on maintenance I just change car every year so I always skipped the brake fluid part.
But now I feel that I will keep this car so I am planning of doing it this time.
Basically the only advantage is that my brakes will not fade as fast as before?

Changing brake fluid is largely overrated for the most part. Yeah, it needs to be done, but not the second you notice a tint of brown.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs water. While there is no water directly in the brake lines, it can absorb it from humidity in the air or any water that gets in from leaked seals.
The o2 capacity of water is very high meaning it can drag in a lot of oxygen (air) into your brake lines. So over time, your brake pressure gets worse due to the build up of air. Water itself wouldn't be that big of a deal since it's actually more compressible than brake fluid is when it comes to hydraulics....it just has too low of a boiling temperature so it's no good.

It also degrades your seals, resulting in >>16447917.

Thank you. Really appreciated. I am currently building this diy power bleeder so I will do the brake fluid change.
It can't hurt.
