Greetings /o/, /pol/ here. Can someone red pill me on Carmax? I like the idea of low pressure sales and not much haggling involved. But I'm sure there is some sort of catch to it.
You'll pay more than normal if you're good at haggling, less than if you're bad at haggling

They inflate their price since you can't haggle it down. That's about it. At least you get a decent car, just know if you put in a little elbow grease of your own you could get a better deal elsewhere

do your research and compare the car you want against several dealers. have them bid for your business. do this for at least two before you go check out carmax. theyll likely be less likely to go down on the price than a dealer would.
also i heard their 99 point inspection is shit and that they may push a real POS on you so make sure the warranty is sound

I do a little more research then. Is it almost a given to get an extended warranty? I mean, just how bad are these cars?

It's not like getting something from Jimbobs Used Cars that used to be a Taco Bell, the cars are at minimum semi decent, and you get a warranty. But keep >>16392819 in mind, sometimes some shit will get through.
Also keep your car choice in mind, if it's something known for poor reliability, you can't really blame CarMax when it ends up sucking
