Fast forward 20 years and it's never moved. I'm not sure on the year but it's an auto, 100 percent original. Red on red and 5.0 HO badges and all. Front driver side impact. Hoods pushed up about 5 inches in the middle but everything from the hood back is square and works perfectly. It's got a thick layer of grime on it because it literally hasn't moved since it was parked 25~ or so years ago.
Now should I go through the trouble of tracking down my uncle (or whatever it's unclear) Peewee (real name) and trying to get it off him. What's it worth at best, maybe 500$ ? I figured the trans and rear end should cover that. Plus the motor if the blocks not split should get maybe another 500. Basically part it out. Thoughts?

Excuse me. I come from a deeply Chevy family and I thought the Foxbodys were deeper 90s. So it's 93 or lower. But it is definitely a 2 headlight foxbody. Not the recessed headlights.

Your really overestimating the value of the parts.
No one cares about a stock 4 lug 8.8, a shitty AOD, or a HO when they can get a superior JY Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0 instead.
You'd be better off properly fixing it up. The price of clean unmolested foxbodies is getting absurd.

Ahh. I see. I'd be best just to let it rot then really. I'd never drive a Ford, am I correct in assuming the front clip is swappable on these? If so it'd make a nice back half. I'm pretty sure the front frame is toast, the driver rail at least.

If it's been sitting for 20 years it's gonna need a lot of work, if you want a quick flip sell it to someone who will throw a 4.8/5.3/6.0 and some boost in it and make it a track slut.

HO's were great 15 years ago, no reason to get one nowadays when you can get a nice low mileage JY Exploder/Mountainqueer 5.0 instead. A decent cam and some valvesprings with supporting mods will blow a HO out of the water. Better yet find a nice roller block 351 and throw some gt40/p's on it.
t. someone who has swapped both HO's, explorer mills, and milder engines into crown vics.
