Pretty much just food items or a unique piece of home decor. All of us know not to waste money by giving out risky items such as things based upon taste (jewelry, clothing, etc). Nothing for the car because they know I am the type that will always have what I need for it.

One year, I bought basic AAA gift memberships for everyone. AAA is flexible enough that they can be used to extend membership if someone already has one.

This year, I gave out 1000 lumen LED flashlights. These are the rarer ones that use nine AA batteries instead of the lithium-ion cells. So they are easy and cheap to recharge and the batteries they use can be used in many other household products as well. I only had to buy three smart chargers because everyone else on the list already had smart chargers for their NiMH cells. So mostly, I bought lots of NiMH batteries to go along with the lights.
