Why do people hate the Kia Rio so much?
I worked at a junkyard for awhile; we had one as the yard car for about eight months and it just would not die. Light as a feather and reasonably quick on dirt.
Plus you can get it with the same engine as the first-gen Miata.

Wait, these came with the Mazda B-series?
...BP-T swap anybody?

Wait, scratch that. If these share more than just the engine with Mazdas such as the 323, the KL-DE or KL-ZE might bolt in using MX-3 or Astina V6 parts.

All the Korean car companies based their cars on the platforms and engines of other more well-established companies.
Hyundai based off Mitsubishi, hence some 1990's Hyundais came with N/A 4G63's and 4G64's.
Daewoo based off GM Opels, so it isn't unheard of to see a 2.0L swapped Daewoo Lanos just destroy everything using the Astra's aftermarket support.
Kia based all their cars off Mazda's before being bought out by Hyundai in 2006. To this day, even using the same parts and engines as Hyundai, Kia repeatedly is more reliable and sportier, owing to their Mazda heritage. 1990's Kia Sephia's came with a BP and used the same chassis as the 323/US Escort if I remember right.

>8 months he says as if its a legitimate basis for durability
My Honda's already past 15 years. Probably means its the greatest car in the world

Ive heard the electronics turn to shit real fast and rewiring your already worthless car doesnt sound appealing.

Fifteen years of trail beating from guys who don't give a fuck on rutted dirt road?
Trust me, eight months is a hella long time. That yard ate an S10 in a year.
because its like a Honda but worse in every way

Yeah, I'd heard of the Sephia and licensed parts sharing. Didn't know the BP came in the Rio though.

>Didn't know the BP came in the Rio though.
It didn't. It came with a B3, a B5 or a B6. Same family though.

Fair enough, they're basically the same thing with varying bore/stroke.
