What about it? What he said is the truth. Olds took the new-for-1949 Rocket V8, stuck it in the midsize 88 instead of just the full-size 98, and made the first muscle car, specifically marketing it to the men home from war with the money to buy one and the know-how to trick it out. He is absolutely right retard. Oldsmobile took the Rocket V8 and put it in the short wheelbase 70-series Olds body. They called it the 88. The Oldsmobile 88 vastly outsold the 6 cylinder 76 and they discontinued the 76. Cadillac supposedly got super buttmad about Oldsmobile putting their OHV V8 into the small bodied cars and tried to get GM to cancel the car.
