how do i prep a vehicle for long term storage?
i'm talking 15-20 years. it will be in a garage.
Made garage climate controlled or use a bubble with ventilation fans
Put it up on axle stands
Fill with fluids

Use that no water radiator fluid Jay Leno used to shill.
>>16355197
just read up on that. seems like a nightmare to remove after it dries out.

>climate controlled
Nah, it just needs to be dry and well ventilated.
Also rustproof everything.
Why would you just let the car sit in a garage for that long though?

the house and the car are both getting mothballed till my kid turns 25. the property is on the other side of the country so i can't really be running out to do regularly scheduled maintenance.
also, this is being done on the down low.

What car is it specifically? Also a battery tender is a must if it has a computer
>>16355334
85 toyota pick up.
the house won't have power. everything is getting shut off. no heat, no fans. no battery chargers. nothing.
putting in a new battery and a fluids change was a given for when it comes time to pull this thing out again. i'm really more concerned about mechanical components seizing or soft rubbers/plastics degrading. and of course, rust.
My car has sat for 10 years.
But, every month or so I wind it up and clear it out for about 10 minutes. Do some pulls and hard braking.
Then park it again till the next month or two.

Just cover it with a car cover.
There's nothing else you can do.
It will be fine. Although you will lose a lot of service life.
>>16355417
Second thought. Sell the car, buy gold, and put it under the floorboards.
>>16355403
Like why would you do that
>>16355451
Busy with other shit
>>16355458
Fair enough. What car?
>>16355461
