I dont know man. I am more of a conservative, and i want to legally get to the US and shit but i fear shit might end up being too hard for legal immigrants to settle. I could move to europe, but i first want to finish mechanic collegue.

My only worry in life is getting a job and buying myself an absolute shitbox (maybe a Clio 1/2 or a Fiat 600) and doing what i want with it

Have EU citizenship card. After Brexit basically i am fucked for going there. Cant complain, they decided for Brexit and they have all the right to do so. I could move to germany or france, however i really do want to try my luck in the US first.

I feel like if i would fit just right in with the US culture in guns, cars, etc.

Insurance in the UK is significantly more expensive that anywhere else in the world, up until a certain age.
I've been laughed at for being an enthusiast in this country regarding insurance. To find out ameritards pay more is sweet sweet justice.

I said that because they're selling here in Japan around me for upwards of $8K now. When I bought my FD 6 months ago I got it for $4500. Granted that was a special deal for me only but he had it posted for $6K on his lot, but still. A $5600 FD (especially if that includes shipping) sounds a bit worrisome to me.

It does include shipping to Canada.

The only things wrong with it that I can see are decent amount of mileage (106k km, pretty average) and it was R grade due to the inner fender being replaced. There is no rust on the car, the interior grade is B and it looks the part, the compression is as expected, and it's making boost.

Pic related, the compression results. The lowest is what, 94 psi? Slightly uneven but I don't think it's worrisome. Also it looks like they labeled the front and rear rotors wrong, as the rear is usually more worn (unless they refer to them differently in Nihon)

I'm thinking within 25-30k Km, sound about right? Also thanks for the tips.

I know the 13B and 13BT are easily rebuildable DIY; How's the REW? Reading up on it it seems like most people buy a reman or have it done at a shop, but it's the same basic stuff isn't it? Albeit with more expensive apex seals (especially because you gotta upgrade them)

I believe they're the same core parts. I've read to upgrade the apex seals and I've also read to use OEM seals because they were made for that engine. It's kinda up to you.

If I were you, I'd start saving up for a single turbo, ECU, cooling mods, etc because it'll all be much easier to throw on at once while the engine is out for rebuild.

Good idea. Not sure how I feel about single turbo... I love the car in its stock form. I guess I'll have to drive it. I'm aware that a modern turbo could be more effective and even spool faster. I'm just weird that way.

Thanks for your help dude. I'll be sure to post my results when I get her

But damn does she look clean.

The right sized single will be as quick to spool but more efficient than the stock twins with their weird 10-8-10 boost pattern. They're just a bad design IMO, especially coupled with the horrific vacuum operation. See pic. Plus you have much better heat management without the twins' cast iron manifold hanging off the side of the housings.

Wew lad

I'll definitely start researching it. By the way, your posts before scared me into looking into the exporter a bit more. The local guy with 3 R32s and an R34 GTR, and S15, left a review on their Facebook page praising them... I think I'm safe

I hope so buddy, good luck and congrats on the car.

I searched for a good seller on tradecarview, but you gotta do your research.

I can't in good conscience recommend the guys I chose yet, because I haven't gotten the car yet, but they have a lot of great reviews both on tradecarview and their facebook pages

Search for royal trading co

I was able to buy the car because a military guy couldn't come up with the money, funny you mention that. They only hold the car for 3 days when they give you an invoice--maybe that's what they're talking about? Or trying to import a car the grey way and getting shafted upon landing? Either way, as long as the FD gets here and is straight, I'd do well even if the engine was blown.

Here's hoping... lol

I trust the guy who's imported all those cars. He actually lives across from me and I ogle his GTR collection constantly. Of course, you can never be too careful.

I gotta crash now, bro. I'll find you later!
