Just had my brand new 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR rustproofed at Ziebart. Cost me a cool $580. Also picked up some weathertech mats and some rally armor mudflaps. I live in the Chicago area and have a 50mi round trip to work 5 days a week. Did I make the right decision on the rustproofing? I just want to protect my investment from salt/rust.

>my investment
kill yourself

Is a car not an investment?
>>16304827
Eh? If you're going to drive it for 10 years I guess but if you're going to sell it in 5 then no.

Only if youre a faggot that buys cars he wants to sell

I will be driving it for quite a while. Definitely 5+ yrs.

Alright, maybe "investment" wasnt the best wording. Depreciating asset? Car? Bottom line I just wanted some different opinions on Ziebart and rustproofing in general.

>insinuating a Mitsubishi will last for 5 years without major repairs

Actually my previous vehicle was a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. Was also my first car. Drove it from age 16 to 23. Only things I ever replaced on it were battery, brake light, wheel bearings, tires, and a dome light.
I go to Krown.
Cost $125 CAD Rupees to get a car done... live in high salt area... works awesome.
7 year old Dodge 4500 with 550k KM on it, and no rust on it.
If it was an investment you would have bought a Honda.

Money pit is a more appropriate term

That's a lot of replacement. Wheel bearings should last 10+ minimum.

He only had to replace some bearings while driving the car for 7 years and that's a lot of replacement? Are you fucking retarded?
>$850 for rust proofing every year instead of spending $1000 for a sacrificial anode winter shitbox and parking your nice car up indoors.

Krown is superior to any other anti-rust protection
>>16304827
>rustproof
yea ok you believe that....

Krown is pretty good, around here we also have whats called Rust Stop which is a bit thicker and messier.
