Why do so many people buy this car? I mean it looks pretty nice

It's a poor mans Mercedes that gets them into the company, so in a few years they'll want a C class, then E class, or CLS class.

I was going to buy it but I started looking into it and it just didn't make sense, I mean, it's a "Benz" but people would know it's the cheapest one because MB marketed it as the Benz anyone could afford.

I would definitely go for the C300 over this, at least now having a C class isn't like having the cheapest Benz. Hell, I would take a B250 over this CLA.

Thats pretty much the only purpose they serve. A high end badge commuter for professionals with a low price tag.

I laugh when someone in a CLA beside me tries racing me. I drive a 2008 mustang Gt btw. Leave them and their shiny meme badges in the dust.

I remember when this car was new and I read several reviews that claimed this would make a nice alternative to the VW Golf. It didn't make much sense to me but kid you not one of the guys at work is considering trading in his Golf for a CLA. He just likes cheap German cars.
