What's the deal with adding a bunch of lights to the fronts

At the speeds they're going, you need all the extra visibility you can get.


And yes, they frequently ran stages at night.

There totally are stages at night dude. And you want a bunch of lights for extra visibility as well as not being blind if a few get broken.

You need lights to see sideways into some of these corners either because they're so tight you genuinely can't see the apex, or because the car itself is going sideways.

Just try to drive the speed limit on a twisty gravel road at night with just your headlights, and you will wish you had 4 huge spotlights strapped to your hood.
