What's the deal with adding a bunch of lights to the fronts of rally cars?

I mean, it looks cool, but I don't understand it. It's not like rallying is something you do in a cave or at night.
>>
At the speeds they're going, you need all the extra visibility you can get.

And yes, they frequently ran stages at night.
>>
There totally are stages at night dude. And you want a bunch of lights for extra visibility as well as not being blind if a few get broken.

nigger when you're going over 80mph on the side of a steep cliff in the middle of the fucking night you would definitely need to see where you're going
>>
You need lights to see sideways into some of these corners either because they're so tight you genuinely can't see the apex, or because the car itself is going sideways.

Just try to drive the speed limit on a twisty gravel road at night with just your headlights, and you will wish you had 4 huge spotlights strapped to your hood.

I was going to post a video, but then was disappointed to find YouTube flooded with rally video games instead.

Have this instead:

Fucking hell, whatever happened to rally racing, anyways? It seems like it was pretty big all the way into the late 90s, maybe early 2000s, and then just went completely dead.

All these cars are just so beautiful, it's ridiculous.

tightening regulations produced singularly dominating manufacturers who basically just blow everyone the fuck out

VW are out now anyway, next WRC season might be interesting.

Its as if they have filmed what me and my friends do a lot during the winter with Volvo 240's, Mercedes C-Classes and similar cars, but sped up by 300%
