I switch cars, I have one for track, one for dd and another family vehicle. Want another to take to shows and events though. Idk that's just me.

Former because German inspections have the potential to make performance modifications an incredible pain in the ass.

I want to start by getting a good base vehicle that isn't a slow shitbox then keep it for the next 10 years while gradually making it fit me better the whole time.

Upgrade, because there aren't many stock vehicles that will perform excellently off road. Since toyota killed the FJ Cruiser, and American Land Cruiser spec isn't like my beloved old ones, I'd be forced to get a new 4Runner or Tacoma. Both of these are much bigger than they used to be.

Jeeps have a meme tax, and have skyrocketed in price because of it. For the price of a new jeep (40k us dollars in my city), one could buy a new 4Runner that actually rides well and won't break down (lol Chrysler).

Everything is fucking huge now, and not many are built for off road action.

I can buy and build an off road vehicle for less than a new one.
