gtr32/33/34 all had improvements on the same base engine platform. it's not the same engine though. biggest difference was the turbos going from steel ball bearing to ceramic ball bearing.

JSYK, all standard GTR turbos are Ceramic, with the R34 having ball bearing. The Nismo/N1 turbos were the only ones with steel impellers.

The 33 is almost 100kg heavier than the 32.

The added weight goes to extra length, improving the weight distribution and stability and improved chassis stiffness.
