How's this car for a first time driver? Getting my license soon and I can't resist an old toyota.
Watch out for leaves.
Celica!

Gumtree. Even if it isn't in best condition it is pretty good.

nice b8
If your serious and like old toyotas get a corolla. You guys got the cool levin models right?

In terms of a uk spec mk.2 you want a revision 3 or newer (look for the round tail lights) and a full hard top as the t-bars are heavier, leak and make the chassis less stiff.
You've got a 99-00 revision 5 in your picture (judging by the spoiler) which would be the best of the bunch, both na and turbo. I think we had like a 10th anniversary edition in the uk in the late 90's, probably a good choice too.
If i were you i'd get a mk.3 though.
Also £350 will get you fuck all worth buying unless you get really lucky.
My 1.6 focus was £800 and it was the cheapest car that wasn't a daewoo that I didn't think would cost me money over a year.

Not domestically, we had an ae86 aka "twincam" and all the celica gt-four models though.
Not that it matters when there's more jap imported fast toyotas than ukdm ones of the same model on uk roads.

Watch out for water and learn about snap oversteer. Also idk how insurance is in the UK, but it's pricey in the US for an mr2 cuz everyone wrecks them.
