okay /o/, need some opinion on this. I am in need of a sub 5k snow beater mobile. I deliver goods in Northwest Ontario/Manitoba. These deliveries range from cities, small towns or native communities that ultimately put me on lots of a snow packed or unplowed roads. This area of the country has gnarly winters. Consistent storms, cold and snowfall.
Criteria:
>Snow performance
>Covered cargo area
>Towing capability, Class 1 stuff
>Snow performance
bonus:
>remote starter, block heater
>de-frosters of any kind

Dirt performance doesn't matter so much, never had issues with the dirt roads besides giant puddles. I'm in the Toronto area for this month which gives me a nice variety of cars to pick from. I don't oppose trucks but I NEED a covered bed. Pic is naturally what came to mind, a cheap subaru wagon. I can put new tires on whatever I choose (geolanders?).

TL:DR: Winter performance car, best bang for my buck at 5k cad.
Thanks in advance.

What do you tow?
>>
>>16273110
I've needed to tow office furniture/dividers, large digital photocopiers, miscellaneous stuff etc.. No more than 1,500lbs I'd say.
>>
>>16273162
My first thought went to the Subaru as well, but I don't know what they're rated for towing. Most passenger cars aren't rated to tow more than 1,000 lbs.

But I did remember that the Chevrolet Beretta was rated to tow 2000-2500 lbs (according to a fealer training video I found on youtube years ago for them). The FWD V6 is decent in the snow, and great if you've got winter tires on it. The only real problems is they like to rust so you may have a hard time finding one, and they're sport coupes so it may not have the cargo capacity you want

Make him an offer he can't refuse. On second thought low ball the shit out of him

Auto 2.5 Outbacks were rated to 1500 pounds. A 3.0 H6 Outback should be able to tow more than that.

>Two vans, an SUV - and a Porsche 944.
I like the way you operate.
>>
>>16273366
Im sure a 944 has enough power to tow 1500lbs and just look at that rear hatch, literally several liters of storage space.

This looks interesting.

deliveries in record time. Guaranteed.

What about dodge magnums? They look like a moving living room. Volvo V70 awd?

Haven't heard much about v70s, Volvo's are usually decently sturdy but depends on mileage and previous maintenance. The Magnum has near 200000 miles on the clock, if its been maintained really well or had a bunch of parts replaced it will probably be okay. Just do a thorough test drive to make sure it's not on its last legs.
>>
>>16273618
>>16273579
Also I believe magnums aren't as roomy as they look, because of their styling they are smaller on the inside and have smaller door openings, and they definitely have a lower roof line
>>
>>16273162
Why are you doing this in your personal car? Why isn't work renting a moving truck?
>>
>>16273618
>>16273626
oh i see.I meant dodge magnums in general not necessarily that one. Any trustworthy suv's I could look into at that price range?
>>16273680
It's a little odd to explain so ill just leave it at "cause reasons". And no this won't be my dd.
>>
>>16273804
A Subaru wagon will be good with proper maintenance. The Chevy Astro vans are like a dime a dozen every plumber carpenter painter blue collar business had one at some point. If you keep the oil changed it should last forever until every singles thing just breaks all at once. Get a Magnum if you like it, just read more people's opinions on it first. And since you didn't bother explaining what you do to the other anon I'm going to assume you sell drugs so I'm going to recommend the 944 again, just consider it
