Why are Lotus Cars always under-appreciated?
90% of the reviews say to look at the Lotus Evora before buying any other 100k Porsches.

I'm not sure
I think its kind of a ironic that it uses a camry engine, A car that constantly gets called boring
i wouldn't buy one simply because they're not exactly well built, doesn't matter how much britfags cry about it lotsues are still not quality cars. Riddled with electrical issues, american-worthy panel gaps and if you live anywhere but the UK, they're a maintenance nightmare for everything that isn't the engine as there's no dealerships anywhere
because they aren't that great

The '11 Evora had like 270 HP, it wasn't really a fast car.
The newer ones are supercharged and make 400hp while being slightly lighter.
I think I'd rather have an Esprit V8 than any Evora though.

Because people buying a Porsche want a car that will start every morning
Poor build quality, camry engine (personally i dont care but whatever, lotus reliabiluty (aka not reliable in the slightest), horribly uncomfortable, no creature comforts on the inside, etc etc etc. 911 is better in almost every way, minus looks but thats subjective.
Id take a 911, gtr, z06, and maybe even an upper line cayman over the evora for their prices. If 30k was knocked off the evora's otd, then it would be a damn good competitor

>Unreliable with a Toyota engine
How?
Never really looked into these but looking around my area seems like theirs a handful at a decent price.
If I where a guy with money to spare I would buy the base model solely for its lightweighness and engine swap it.
Wonder what kind of engines fit in this thing.

Mythos and imagination.

>Esprit V8
My nigga
>>16270211
There are other parts to a car than just the engine.
>>16270098
I'm not paying money for a toy car with a toy engine. I'd rather spend my money on a real car.
>>16270098
Looks like build by parts from 20 different car. Which it is.
Wild 8 series appeared.

People assume it won't work
The weight saving measures make it to the inside and there are no amenities. nobody wants to deal with this. especially if they are spending 30K+.
the last few elises have versions that are nice inside and also have an option for
>automatic
if they are recommending the evora, it proves this sort of thing is what they're going after.
