Unless your ECU actually calculates MPG I don't think it is possible without extreme nigger rigging

I have the same car and I average about 22-25 mpg

Best you'll get with it. What is a meter gonna do for you? Its not gonna give you any more MPGs.

I was thinking more along the lines of adjusting my driving habits to get a little better mpg.

Well I did some digging and found the MPGuino. It will give me a live read out of my mpg after some calibrating.

Well, just don't step on it, prefer highway driving(but go under the speed limit, do 50 or 60) over city driving because it is more fuel efficient

Yeah but I'm lazy so I want a read out to show me. I enjoy getting it down to exact numbers. Hopefully this MPGunino will be a good fit as I have not found any other OBD1 mpg readers so far.
