This car is basically no faster than it was almost 20 years ago. Every year, it gains a little bit of power, and even more weight. Other sports cars have improved their performance so much, why hasn't the STI?
I feel it should be, at the *very least*, where the Focus RS is right now.

It isn't. The Focus RS is pushing 40 more HP and 60 more TRQ out of a smaller 2.3L while weighing about the same despite being a 5-door hatch.
You could argue that's more high strung, but that's what these type of cars should be. Running on utterly ridiculous amounts of boost. It should be closer to 400HP than 300 right now.
