i have a 2013 honda fit. i got it cause i wanted a small honda with a hatchback. and back in 2013 they didnt have the new civics. but. i checked out those new civic hatchbacks theyre making and.. theyre pretty nice
i still have 6 more months of payments on it. the car has just over 50k miles on it and ive had no problems at all with it. the new civic is just nicer and the parts are easier to get. slightly better gas mileage and a little more power
should i trade in or sell my 2013 fit to get a civic hatchback with maybe 10k miles on it next summer? or just drive my fit basically into the ground and get a slightly used car maybe 5 years from now

No. You financed a car. Why would you immediately jump back into payments? Especially for a shitty new civic. Keep the fit a few more years at least and then get a used luxury car.

Because they're better engineered. have a proper FR layout, and have cooled seats and panoramic roofs that you can't get on an accord or civic.

but arent the civic and accord some of, if not the most, reliable cars around? what does the "better engineering" mean if its going to crap out around the same time and gets worse mileage. the panoramic roof idea sounds nice. i would definitely like that. but is it worth the extra cash?

Dealers aren't budging much on these new Civic hatchirokus... just test drove one today, and spam-mailed 23 Honda dealers in my area with a good fair price calculated using hold-back, wholesale financial reserve, factory-dealer incentives etc. aka "expert car negotiation knowledge", some straight up just denied said sorry we can't work with you.
