The Busso engine is one of the more reliable options they put in the 156 and it sounds fucking glorious.
Be aware that these cars eat their front control arms though, you'll need a new set every year if you drive it often. Which you will, because it's fucking great to drive.

You can retrofit a 'Q2' torsen diff with reasonable effort, and that will improve turn in and traction considerably though.
