A Red Mazda Miata MX-5 ND - RF out in the sunlight.

What do you think?
>>
I dig. Any pics with the top up?
>>

I'm sorry but this is the only pic I found online.

I'll post if I get any.
>>
>>16241914
It looks nice, but who the fuck is buying a 35k miata?

I bet it's near impossible trying to get a roll bar into that thing.

BRZ with performance package is the better car IMO

Miata RF doesn't weigh 2300lbs m8.

Nice jpeg though

Someone interested in getting an RF probably isn't interested in putting a roll bar in it

i guarantee the structure on the car is more structurally sound in a rollover than the shitty bolt in bars that 99% of people who do have them use anyway

Open track days do not require roll bars anywhere I've ever been. If they did they would immediately fail every shitty bolt in roll bar made for Miatas at tech.

Legitimate tracks don't fuck with safety. And for good reason.

Literally the only reason for anyone buying the RF is for looks. Anyone wanting the best miata would buy the vert. Mazda should have made a real coupe.

15.6.11.A Rear Braces - Exceptions
On cars where the rear window/bulkhead prohibits the installation of rear braces
(Porsche 914, Pontiac Fiero, etc.) the main hoop must be attached to the body by plates
welded to the cage and bolted to the stock shoulder harness mounting location. There
must also be a diagonal bar connecting the top of the main hoop to the lower front
passenger side mounting point (“Petty bar”). Some cars built for racing in other
recognized sanctioning bodies may be granted a waiver of this rule, however they must
show proof of compliance with the current published rules for their class.
>>
>>16242240
Post some real cars you'd drive on a track then
>>
>>16242268
May as well get a proper cage then, a roll bar is a pretty half assed solution

But ever think that an RF buyer doesn't want to take his car on the track? Or is that too abstract of a concept for your small mind to parse?
>>
>>16242268
>Legitimate tracks don't fuck with safety. And for good reason
Like what tracks?

by the way you just copy pasted shit from nasa, they dont have any say what happens on a tuesday morning down at the local track :^)
>>
>>16242268
Rollbars are useful if your car is old as fuck and doesn't have one or if you're too tall for the factory rollbar, so it literally wouldn't make a difference for a modern car like the RF

>But ever think that an RF buyer doesn't want to take his car on the track? Or is that too abstract of a concept for your small mind to parse?

Jesus, I can feel your fedora tipping from here.

I'm sure the majority of RF owners won't take it to the track. They will probably rarely drive it hard at all, and the car will be kept in a garage, pampered because one day it will be a collectible.

The owners of these overpriced Del Sols will be obnoxious.

>already making assumptions of what people will do with these cars

>>16242268
what does that have to do with "legitimate tracks"? That's from the NASA rulebook. NASA is not in charge of safety for any track in the world, only their own racing series. No organization that runs open track days at Sonoma or Laguna Seca requires a bar for targas, does that mean they aren't legitimate tracks? And again, the roll bars that you referenced that nearly every Miata that has a bar uses would not pass tech anywhere. Where are you going to move the goalpost next? Have you ever been on a track? No. Do you know anything about cages? No. Is any of this relevant to the RF? No. Why keep posting? You're anonymous, no reason to keep trying to save face.
>>
daily reminder the mx5 is the most raced car globally and the toyobaru only ever makes an appearance at "hpde" days when the assistant burger flipping manager got enough hours at mcD's to cover his lease and have spare change

I have been to multiple tracks. All the groups that I have run with implement the broomstick test

"With the driver sitting in a normal driving position, the top of the driver's helmet shall be at least two inchs (2 in) below a straight line, a.k.a., broomstick, extending from the top of the rollbar forward to the highest structrual part of the vehicle. If factory documentation indicates that the A-pillar is structrual, it may be used as the forward point for the test. Otherwise, the top of the forward shock mount shall be used."

Maybe I worded my initial post wrong, but this is mostly what I was referring to.

I'm still having trouble getting over the blacked out plastic instead of a window behind what is supposed to be a B pillar.

I also can't get over an extra 110lb when it doesn't increase rigidity.
If it was 30% more rigid, then sure, worth it. Would have made it a superior platform for putting power into it. But it seems that it adds no rigidity at all.

As it stands, this just seems like a car for old people that want the convenience and extra refinement of a hard top.

Mazda needs to figure out how to have better hinges and locks that make it actually increase rigidity with the top up, even if it adds another 10 or 15lb, it'd actually be worth it then.

lol wut

i've taken my miatas on legitimate racetracks that currently or formerly hosted F1, WTCC, DTM and CART and neither of them have roll bars
>>
>>16242585
gays tend to be smarter and more alpha than the average straight guy. The whole "nu-male" archetype is a beta (hetero) that grovels at women's feet in hopes of getting laid.

>>
>>16242691
It originated in non-flaming bottom gays, as self-righteous, outspoken, and liberal as they often are. Effeminate personality, but not full on "sistah" or whatever the fuck you call them.

The nu male thing is straight men taking on the mannerisms of the lowliest of gay men for liberal cred, and to make themselves less threatening to women because that's what the je....scientists told them would work.
>>
>>16242719
triggered beta women worshiper detected. enjoy spending your whole life trying to impress some weak and useless woman because she has a vagina. You are a slave.

>>16242691

Source.
>>
>>16242737
they attended fancy universities where the liberal teachers brainwashed them into being homo
>>
>>16242732
being a man 101: you don't impress women, women are impressed by you, and so are men, but don't fuck those, they only have poo holes. that's pretty gross and when they want you to switch it fucking hurts.

"so the Hypothesis would predict that more intelligent
individuals are more likely to identify themselves as homosexual and engage in
homosexual behaviour. Analyses of three large, nationally representative samples
(two of which are prospectively longitudinal) from two different nations confirm
the prediction."

>>
>>16242743
You might want to actually read that before parading it as predisposition from birth to be smarter, then get to grips with the social influence on what is yet to be completely socially accepted.
>>
>>16242743
>identify themselves

Key phrase. A more intelligent person will be less fearful of social rejection and will feel confident in their ability to overcome it if they should encounter it.

So

>gay people are smarter
Is not the point of the paper. You do not choose to be internally homosexual. There are dumb trannies and faggots galore, fapping alone, not fully understanding what's wrong with them, rocking back in forth in a corner trying to be normal because it's all they understand.
>gay people who come out of the closet are smarter
Might actually be true
>>
>>16242743
>being a nu-male is evolutionarily novel
>yfw car-hating, freedom-despising, white genocide supporting cuckolds most likely average slightly smarter than the mean
>yfw this will change in ten years when liberalism goes from the hip new idea to the societally enforced "just so" and nu-nazis will hold more college degrees than democrats

>>
>>16243574
There is no doubt that it looks great.

The problem is that it's a 5% weight increase that doesn't add to rigidity.
